Hvar is a town and port on the south-western coast of the island of Hvar. It lies in a cove protected by the Pakleni Islands in the south and a low crest in the north. There is also Konoba Kokot, a quaint family restaurant which serves home-grown, organically produced local specialties in a friendly domestic environment at very reasonable prices.

From the suncokret center, visitors may trek along the footpaths which lead to various ruins and finally to Sv. Nikola, the pinnacle of the island. The hike involves a 3 hour pilgramage but the view of the azure Adriatic with its magnificent neighboring islands evokes a sense of wonder and oneness well worth the endeavor.
